Electrophoretic Behaviour of Trypanosomes
Prothidium caused gross loss of motility and clumping of all trypanosomes. Comparison of the findings for trypanosomes with those for other cells previously studied shows that T. Iewi8i iS very similar electrophoretically to freely circulating cells such as lymphocytes and tumour cells. On the other hand, the surface properties of the blood-stream form of T. rhodesiense are different electropho...
متن کاملElectrophoretic behaviour of human urinary amylase.
A saccharogenic method is described for estimating amylase activity in human urine. Results accord with those reported elsewhere except that in this study the peak in the beta zone is a new finding. Comparison between normal and pathological urines suggests that the amylase activity of the beta peak is not of pancreatic origin.
متن کاملElectrophoretic coating of amphiphilic chitosan colloids on regulating cellular behaviour.
In this communication, we report a facile nanotopographical control over a stainless steel surface via an electrophoretic deposition of colloidal amphiphilic chitosan for preferential growth, proliferation or migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Atomic force microscopy revealed that the colloidal surface exhibited a deposition ti...
متن کاملElectrophoretic Studies on Red Cells
These experiments were made to obtain more information about the surface of the red blood cell. Since "surface" means different things to different people, we shall define our meaning now. Strictly speaking, the surface studied by electrophoresis is the surface of shear between the cell (moving in the electric field) and the surrounding medium, for it is the potential at this surface which is t...
متن کاملElectrophoretic Deposition of Hydroxyapatite
The purpose of this study was to investigate the deposition of the hydroxyapatite (HA) coating via the electrophoresis procedure. The HA deposition was performed in an ethanol, methanol, acetone and isopropanol suspension. Methanol was found to be the best deposition media. Among the different environmental conditions, including the encapsulation of the samples under two vacuum types of pr...
